Tight security put in place for swearing-in ceremony today

Senior police officials of the state briefed the police force deployed for the security arrangements in view of the swearing-in ceremony of Pushkar Singh Dhami as chief minister along with his cabinet colleagues on Wednesday which is slated to be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other top leaders. Tight security arrangements will be place for the function with a zero zone being declared around the venue- Parade Ground.The additional director general (Law and Order) V Murugesan and ADG (Intelligence) Sanjay Gunjyal along with DIG and Dehradun senior superintendent of police Janmejaya Khanduri directed the police force engaged in the VVIP duty to arrive three hours prior to the scheduled time at their post. “Only authorised persons and their vehicles should be allowed inside. Persons meeting VVIPs should also be closely monitored by the security and only listed people should be allowed inside after the anti-sabotage checking. People coming to attend the ceremony should be allowed to sit at their predetermined place only,” directed the police officials. Speaking about the movement of the VVIP fleet ahead of the ceremony, the DIG directed the respective route in-charges to conduct a thorough inspection of the said routes before the event to ensure no obstructions like construction material lying on the road that may cause any trouble during their movement. The officials also directed the officials concerned to stop the traffic 50 metres before the main routes where traffic congestion generally remains high using barricades and ropes. Besides this, vehicles of VVIPs and the general public must be parked in the designated places. They also directed them to make proper arrangements in advance to avoid any chaos when dignitaries and the public will exit from the event.
