Tree plantation held to enhance environment

The Vriksharopan Mahayagya-2026 organised jointly by the Uttar Pradesh Forest and Climate Change department, Shri Venkateshwara University/VGI and VIMS multispeciality hospital was inaugurated at the university campus in Meerut.
The participants were administered an oath of planting 10,000 saplings on the university campus and both sides of the highway on the occasion. The founding president of the Venkateshwara Group, Sudhir Giri exhorted the gathering to plant trees on various occasions like birthdays, marriage anniversary and other social and cultural events. Celebrating occasions in this manner will help improve the environment, he said. The UP Housing commissioner nodal officer Balkar Singh said that the State of UP will make the biggest contribution to achieving the dream of a developed, green and clean India.
The university’s pro-chancellor Rajeev Tyagi said that large scale tree plantation is the most effective means to tackle global warming and rising pollution.
