The two-day annual function of the Sherwood College in Nainital started with various cultural programs on Wednesday. The chief guest of the event was an alumnus of the school, Major General Ajay Kumar Verma. The event started with the English play The Lion King following several other plays and performances which were presented on the first day of the celebration. The chief guest Major General Verma said on the occasion that thousands of alumni of Sherwood are presently serving in every part of the country and abroad. He said that his own future is also shaped by this school. The manner in which the children performed during the cultural program shows that this school has continued its role to nurture the talents of the children for about 150 years, added Verma. The school principal Amandeep Sandhu said that students will give more mesmerising performances on the last day of the event on Thursday.
