Two found dead after car falls down mountainside in Chamoli

Two persons died when the car they were travelling in fell down the mountainside between Jhelam and Bhapkund on the Jyotirmath-Niti motor road in Chamoli district. Their bodies were discovered on Thursday.
The Jyotirmath police and State Disaster Response Force personnel reached the site and found two bodies on the banks of the river. Police station officer Devendra Singh Rawat informed that family members of Ankush Chauhan informed the police on Thursday that their son Ankush, a civil junior engineer had gone for work at the Timmersain temple on June 21 and had left that site on the next day. However, he had not yet returned home.
The police conducted a search operation and also received information about a car having fallen down the mountainside near Jhelam and Bhapkund. The police reached the site and found two bodies. Rawat further informed that the bodies have been identified as those of Ankush Chauhan (32) from Salud and Pradeep Negi (33) from New Ravigram.
