The principal of DAV PG College, Kaushal Kumar said that admissions for undergraduate courses this year will be based on the Common University Entrance Test (CUET).
Notably, the admission period for undergraduate courses at various colleges and universities is approaching, prompting these institutions to begin their preparations.
In a recent statement regarding eligibility for enrollment at DAV PG College, Kumar said that while the application process for the CUET has commenced, the schedule for the CUET entrance examination has yet to be announced. He clarified that students wishing to enrol in undergraduate programmes at DAV PG College are required to appear in the CUET examination. Admission to the specified courses will hinge on the results of the CUET. A merit list of students will be prepared based on their CUET scores for future enrollment at the college.
Kumar stated that this year, approximately 3,600 seats have been allocated for the main undergraduate courses, including BA, BSc and BCom. He also noted that last year, 3,400 seats were filled by students in these undergraduate programmes.
At that time, it was noted that there were some vacant seats for students from ST, SC at the college, as many were unaware of the CUET-based admission process. In the light of this, he urged that students wishing to enrol in undergraduate programmes at the DAV College should take the CUET examination. He added that achieving 100 per cent student attendance in college classes is a priority this year, with a forthcoming meeting to be held to plan and implement this initiative effectively.
He also informed that students had been admitted last year to postgraduate programmes based on CUET scores, but this year’s process has changed. He indicated that this year, student selection for postgraduate courses is expected to be conducted through the Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University entrance test.
