UGC hosts teacher training workshop at KU

A two-day regional workshop being organised by the University Grants Commission commenced at the UGC-Malviya Mission Teachers Training Centre in Kumaun University, Nainital. The secretary, UGC, Manish R Joshi and joint secretary, UGC, Jitendra Tripathi inaugurated it in the presence of KU’s vice-chancellor and registrar.

Joshi, in his address, said that the objective of such training programmes should not be limited to teachers only but reach the students, too. He also underlined that it has become necessary in the current educational perspective to think beyond traditional methods and incorporate AI and modern technologies. He stressed on

innovation, creative thinking, inclusive approach and collective efforts. The VC Diwan Singh Rawat also addressed the workshop.  

The director, Union Ministry of Education, Devendra Kumar Sharma participated virtually and gave a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation, discussing the key aspects of teacher training and capacity building.
