U’khand Cong accuses BJP of misusing power in Bageshwar

The Uttarakhand Congress has accused the ruling BJP of blatant misuse of power in the campaign for the Bageshwar Assembly by -election.
Interacting with the media persons at the headquarters of the State Congress on Tuesday, the State chief spokesperson of Congress, Garima Dasauni said that party workers are being constantly harassed in Bageshwar by the administration. She claimed that the Congress is in a strong position in Bageshwar due to which the ruling party has got cluttered up. Dasauni said that since the Congress party firmly believes in the constitution and it is contesting the election using constitutional means.
She claimed that the Congress workers are being harassed to break their morale. The banners and posters of the Congress candidate are being torn and the vehicles of Congress party supporters are being penalised, she said. The Congress leader said that notices under section 107/116 have been given to the district vice president of Youth Congress Bhim Kumar and Bhuwan Pharswan. Dasauni added that the journalists coming to Bageshwar from outside are not being allowed to cover the by-election. She claimed that the information department has asked the local journalists to get its permission for attending press conferences. The village Pradhans and other public representatives are being threatened. Dasauni said that the Congress party will register a complaint with the election commission on the issue.
She said that the people of Bageshwar have made up their mind and will vote for change. The people are fed up with bad policies of BJP, uncontrolled price rise and rampant unemployment, she added.
