U’khand Cong gears up to make RaGa’s State visit a success

Uttarakhand Congress has started making preparations for the upcoming Uttarakhand visit of leader of opposition (LoP) Rahul Gandhi.

 The in- charge of the Uttarakhand Congress Kumari Selja visited Pauri on Monday and reviewed the preparation of Gandhi’s proposed visit in the city on June 4. The LoP in Lok Sabha will address a conclave of the ex-servicemen at Kandoliya Ground in Pauri. On Monday, Selja inspected the Kandoliya Ground along with the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Ganesh Godiyal and the convener of the conclave MLA Vikram Singh Negi. Many senior leaders and the office bearers of the ex-servicemen wing of the Uttarakhand Congress accompanied the State party in charge.  Selja appealed to all the workers of the Congress party to attend the meetings of Rahul Gandhi in large numbers. 

In Dehradun, the PCC has set up a control room for the Uttarakhand visit of Rahul Gandhi. The control room headed by Navin Joshi became operational on Monday. For the success of the rally and the conclave of Rahul Gandhi, Joshi interacted with senior leaders, district and Mahanagar presidents, Vidhan Sabha in-charges and office bearers over phone and asked them to make the visit of Gandhi a huge success. He said that the visit of Gandhi will inculcate a new energy and enthusiasm in the Congress workers. Joshi added that coordination with all the leaders is being done for the programme. 

As per the programme, Rahul Gandhi will address a rally in Almora on June 4 in morning and attend a conclave of ex-servicemen in Pauri in afternoon. On June 5, he will interact with the party leaders, workers and office bearers in Dehradun. 

 In Almora, Gandhi is expected to attack the Dhami government for its failure to provide employment, rising inflation and its policies. The leader of opposition in Vidhan Sabha Yashpal Arya, former chief minister Harish Rawat, former Pradesh Congress Committee president Karan Mahara, the deputy leader of Congress legislature party Bhuwan Kapdi, MLAs Tilak Raj Behed, Harish Dhami and Sumit Hridayesh have been assigned the task of making the Almora rally of Rahul Gandhi a success.  In Pauri, the LoP of Lok Sabha is expected to take up the issue of Agniveers.
