U’khand native becomes Izzatnagar DRM

A native of Haldwani in Nainital district of Uttarakhand, Ashutosh Pant assumed charge as the divisional rail manager (DRM) of Izzatnagar division on Wednesday afternoon. Before assuming this post, he was the DRM of Jodhpur in North West Railway since November 2019.
Born on March 23, 1968 in Khatima, Pant did his schooling from Nirmala Convent in Haldwani and Birla Vidya Mandir in Nainital. After that he graduated as an electrical engineer from BITS Pilani in 1988 and then joined the Indian Railways electrical engineering services in 1991. His first posting was as an assistant electrical engineer in Prayagraj after which he subsequently worked at various posts and levels. He was also presented the Rajbhasha award by the Railway minister in 2016. In addition to playing a vital role in the electrification of the Farrukhabad-Kalyanpur rail section, he has also been involved in the survey for various projects and preparation of various detailed project reports. Apart from his work in the railways, he is also interested in sports, reading, art and music.
