U’khand receives 90,500 doses of Covishield vaccine

The State health department of Uttarakhand has received a new comsignment 90,500 doses of the Covishield vaccine of Covid-19 from the government of India. The department has dispatched the consignment of the vaccines to the districts. The secretary, health R Rajesh Kumar said that the new consignment of vaccines would give an impetus to the pace of the vaccination in the State. He said that the chief medical officers (CMO) have been directed to give further momentum to the vaccination drive in their respective districts. Kumar said that the doses of the Covishield have been distributed to the districts. As per the data of the department Almora district has received 4100, Bageshwar 1,800, Chamoli 2,400, Champawat 2,000, Dehradun 18,900, Haridwar 18,400, Nainital 8,500, Pauri 5,000, Pithoragarh 4,000, Rudraprayag 1,600, Tehri 3,600, Udham Singh Nagar 18,400 and Uttarkashi 1,800 doses of vaccine. The secretary said that those persons who have somehow been left out in the vaccination drive should get them vaccinated at the nearest vaccination centre. The secretary said that there is no shortage of vaccine in the State and more doses of the vaccine would be sent to the districts as per their needs.
