This was stated by Dehradun senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh in a Press conference on Friday. He stated that on the morning of August 28, police received information that 68-year-old Jarrar Ahmed, working as a caretaker, was found dead on a cot inside a tin shed at the site. A case was registered at Rajpur police station on the complaint of contractor Toseef Ahmed. With the help of informers, police traced and arrested them near Orchid Park locality in Rajpur. “The accused were identified as Praveen Rawat alias Aman (19) and Pawan Kumar (19).
During questioning, they admitted that they committed thefts to fund their drug use. They said that the caretaker caught hold of Kumar, after which they attacked him with the rod and fled with cash and the phone.
