The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s dream project- Uttarakhand’s first modern bus port in Ramnagar- is nearing completion. Being built at a cost of around Rs 28 crore, the state-of-the-art bus port will be opened to the public early next year. Notably, the foundation stone of this project had been laid by the CM in March 2023.
The ultra-modern bus port will provide passengers with airport-like amenities, including air-conditioned waiting halls, lifts, a food court, book stalls, dedicated driver-conductor rooms, high-tech restrooms, escalators and parking space for more than 100 cars.
A senior officer of Ramnagar Roadways, Nandan Arya said that at present about 70 buses operate from here. “Once the bus port becomes operational, the number may increase to over 200. This will provide improved connectivity not only to various districts of Uttarakhand but also to Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana and Rajasthan,” he said and added that it would also generate fresh employment opportunities for local youths.
