U’khand’s shooting star Subhash Rana receives Dronacharya Award

The shooting coach of India for Paralympics Subhash Rana felicitated by President Droupadi Murmu with the Dronacharya Award. The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami congratulated him, saying that this was another sporting laurel he had brought for Uttarakhand. Notably, he is among the sporting personalities bestowed with the award by the President.  Hailing from Chilamu village in Nainbag of Tehri district, he won four gold and two silver medals in shooting events at international Paralympics. He took part in the international shooting competitions in Italy and Spain in 1994 and 1998 respectively. Besides, the Indian Paralympic shooting team coached by him won five medals at the Tokyo Paralympics 2020.

The State sports minister Rekha Arya in her congratulatory message said that Rana’s dedication to the cause of sports and his achievements, including this award, would continue to inspire all the sporting talents of Uttarakhand.
