Union Education minister Pralhad Joshi congratulated Uttarakhand and its chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for being declared a fully literate State under the Ullas-Nav Bharat Saksharta Karyakram.

In the letter sent to Dhami, the Union minister opined that this major achievement is due to the CM’s vision and the collective efforts of Uttarakhandis. Despite the tough geographical conditions, Uttarakhand has set an example by achieving the ‘fully literate’ tag. Joshi said that this achievement of Uttarakhand will be an inspiration for other States and Union Territories.

Dhami thanked Joshi, stating that Uttarakhand becoming a ‘fully literate’ State is a matter of pride. The State government, Education department, teachers, volunteers and the people of the State have all played an important role in achieving this status. “The aim of the State government is not limited to literacy alone. We are working to ensure quality education for every citizen along with digital literacy and opportunities to learn throughout life,” the CM said.
