Sunfox Technologies, an Uttarakhand-born medtech company focused on making advanced cardiac diagnostics more accessible, marked the completion of 10 years of innovation and the inauguration of its new innovation hub here on Sunday by the Health minister Subodh Uniyal. This marks the beginning of the company’s next decade as it looks to strengthen research and development, expand access to cardiac diagnostics, grow its technology and team, and take innovations developed in Uttarakhand to wider markets.
Uniyal said that the company represents the potential of innovation emerging from Uttarakhand to address important healthcare challenges. “It is encouraging to see a company built in Dehradun develop technology with ambitions extending across India and beyond. I congratulate the Sunfox team on completing 10 years and wish them success as they enter their next phase of growth,” Uniyal said.
Founded in 2016 in Dehradun, Sunfox began with a belief that access to meaningful cardiac information should not be limited by geography, infrastructure or the availability of conventional diagnostic systems. Over the past decade, the company has built the Spandan portfolio of portable ECG solutions designed for use across homes, clinics, hospital bedsides, outreach programmes and other care settings.
“Our first decade was about proving that meaningful medical technology can be imagined, engineered and built from Uttarakhand. Our next decade is about scale — scaling the science, the technology, the team and, most importantly, the access we can create. We want Sunfox to demonstrate that globally relevant medtech innovation can emerge from anywhere in India,” the company CEO Rajat Jain said.
