UPES celebrated its first-ever ‘Happiness Day’, an initiative dedicated to spreading joy and creating space for emotional wellness across the campus community. The university officials said that with the world grappling with rising stress, emotional burnout and diminishing social connection, the need to prioritise happiness and well-being has never been more urgent. Over 9,000 plus students, staff and faculty participated in the programme. “The world record attempt stood out as a powerful and symbolic expression of shared happiness in an otherwise fast-paced academic environment,” a UPES officer said.
Addressing the gathering, the vice- chancellor, UPES, Ram Sharma said that education is not only about knowledge, skills and career preparation but about nurturing happier, healthier and more fulfilled lives.
