U’khand to study & implement Netherland model of cooperatives: Rawat

Cooperatives minister Dhan Singh Rawat has said that the geographical condition of Netherlands is similar to Uttarakhand and its modern agriculture, food processing, floriculture, horticulture, cooperative governance, rural development and dairy development models will be extensively studied for implementation in the State. 

The minister is on a tour of the Netherlands with senior officers of the department. In his visit Rawat will study the modern techniques used in diary development, floriculture and food processing. He will also study the financial management system of the Rabobank, the largest Bank of Netherland. 

He said that the Rabobank has organised an international workshop to promote the cooperative sector in which 26 officers associated with cooperatives in India participated.  The horticulture and cooperatives minister of Himachal Pradesh Jagat Singh Negi also attended the workshop.

The minister added that the experts will delve on subjects such as cooperative governance, value chain finance, rural development, horticulture, floriculture, dairy development and food processing in the workshop.

 The secretary Dilip Jawalkar and managing director of State cooperative bank Neeraj Belwal are accompanying the minister on the tour.
