The Bharatiya Janata Party has claimed that the roadshow and public gathering to be addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi after inaugurating the Delhi-Dehradun expressway is going to be unprecedented and historic. Party leaders said that in addition to the expressway, Uttarakhand will also receive the benefit of other schemes to be inaugurated by the PM.

Interacting with the media, BJP State media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan said that the PM’s visit will also include his first roadshow in the State. The party will attempt to display the cultural heritage and traditional grandeur of the State in this roadshow. The roadshow will be undertaken on the stretch about 12 to 14 kilometres long. The PM will be welcomed at various spots along the route with Garhwali, Kumaoni and Jaunsari folk dances and traditional music.

The PM will begin his visit by offering prayers at the Dat Kali temple. Modi will address a large gathering at Garhi cantonment after the roadshow. Lakhs of party workers and citizens from across the State are expected to attend this gathering, Chauhan said. Appreciating the impacts of the Delhi-Dehradun expressway on the convenience of travellers, tourism and other economic activities, the BJP leader opined that its opening will also add new dimensions to the State’s economy.
