Lake City Welfare Club is organising a Kumaoni cuisine competition in Nainital on December 10. Informing this, the president of the club, Abha Shah said that the event will be held at a hotel from 12 PM in collaboration with the Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam, adding that the competition has three categories: sweet, salty and non-vegetarian.
Shah further stated that the club has been organising this competition for the past 14 years. “The purpose of this competition is to introduce our culture to the next generation so that they become familiar with the methods of preparing Kumaoni cuisines. We have been working for the preservation and promotion of culture for the past 15 years and this will continue in future,” Shah said and added that those interested in participating in this competition could contact 6398208606.
The entry to the competition is free, said the secretary of the club, Sarita Tripathi.
