Uttarakhand Selected for Award of Excellence
Uttarakhand has been chosen for the 18th CSE SEG e-governance award 2020. In the State category, the award of excellence will be given for e-cabinet. The Home and Confidential (Gopan) department officials of the state will receive this award at a function slated to be held in Lucknow on February 12. The Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath will be the chief guest at this function.
Non-profit society CSE presents awards for better performance in various categories for e-governance. Considering the e-cabinet initiative in Uttarakhand a major step towards facilitating e-governance, the State was chosen for award of excellence. The organisation will also share this as a best practice with other states.
Congratulating officials of the Gopan department, chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said that e-governance is very important for good governance. In this direction, Uttarakhand has taken important initiatives like e-cabinet, e-office, e-district and CM helpline among others. Through such efforts the state government is attempting to ensure that as many people as possible avail the benefit of information technology, said the CM.
The chief secretary Om Prakash said that Uttarakhand is the first Indian state to take the e-cabinet initiative. Other states are also thinking on the lines of Uttarakhand’s e-cabinet model. Further, the e-office system has also been started in almost all the sections in the secretariat. The use of information technology has also brought about an improvement in administrative efficiency, said the chief secretary.
