Uttarakhand’s first officially approved ride-hailing application, the HitoHit app was launched in Ramnagar on Sunday. The app, developed by Deepak Pandey, enables users to book auto services within minutes. It has received approval from the Uttarakhand Transport department.
Pandey said that the app operates on a model similar to Ola and Uber but follows the fare rates set by the Transport department. He added that it can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and is designed to address the transport needs of the region. Pandey, who earlier worked in Hyderabad, said his experience there and the transport challenges in Uttarakhand motivated him to develop the app.
He shared that taxi and ambulance booking options will also be added to the platform in the future. BJP district vice president Ganesh Rawat, who attended the event as the chief guest, said that the app will make local travel more convenient. The guest of honour Prabhat Dhyani also said that such digital platforms are great initiatives for the State considering current times.
