With Haridwar-Roorkee Development Authority (HRDA) vice chairman Anshul Singh being transferred to the post of Almora district magistrate, officials in the authority state that his tenure here could be considered striking due to various aspects. Many development and beautification works were undertaken by the HRDA during his tenure, they state.
The officials averred that the authority had undertaken unprecedented works in the spheres of development and beautification during Singh’s tenure. Public parks were renovated and beautified in various areas of Haridwar city, along with being given a modern look.
The old structures and incomplete projects were improved and enhanced with modern technology to also make them more attractive. Dozens of parks were given a new lease of life in the city, the officials further said. In addition to the public parks, the HRDA also started various projects to develop Haridwar into a modern city with enhanced public convenience. These projects include the Bhalla Stadium and Unity Mall. Such projects enhanced the identity of Haridwar in the spheres of sports, business and tourism.
Officials opined that under Singh, the HRDA’s vision was not limited to the construction of buildings with the aim being enhanced to provide facilities like those in a metro city. Smaller sports grounds and compounds were prepared in various locations to encourage the youngsters to indulge in healthful sports activities and enhance their sporting talent.
It is hoped that the local youngsters will make the best use of these sports facilities and rise to higher levels in their chosen sport in the future.
