The Uttarakhand Vidyalaya Shiksha Parishad (UVSP) will hold a meeting with the chief education officers (CEOs) from all 13 districts of the State on December 12 in Dehradun. This meeting will discuss and finalise examination centres across the districts in preparation for the 2026 board examinations for Class X and Class XII.
Informing this, the secretary, UVSP, Vinod Simalti said that UVSP has been actively preparing to ensure a trouble-free 2026 board examinations. “Continuous efforts are being made in this regard,” he said, adding that UVSP had earlier focused on gathering data concerning the students registered for the upcoming board examinations. “Recently, the process of collecting student data was completed,” he said.
According to the available data, a total of 216,373 students will participate in the board examinations for Class X and Class XII in 2026 under UVSP. Of them, 112,744 candidates have registered for the Class X examination while 103,629 candidates are set to take the Class XII examination.
Simalti shared that they had previously instructed the chief executive officers (CEOs) of all the districts to identify appropriate examination centres within their respective areas. Following this directive, the CEOs have identified the centres and recently forwarded the details to UVSP. “All the district CEOs will attend the December 12 meeting,” he said.
“Following this, we will proceed to further steps for conducting the examinations. We have also requested the State government to provide a holiday calendar for 2026, which will help us decide the exam dates,” Simalti said.
Notably, Simalti had previously informed that this year, UVSP intended to enhance the question paper format to foster critical thinking and analytical abilities in students.
UVSP also aims to announce the results of the 2026 board examinations at the earliest, much like they did last year.
