UVSP to start result improvement examination on July 18

The Uttarakhand Vidyalayi Shiksha Parishad (UVSP) will commence the high school and intermediate result improvement examination for the year 2024 on July 18, which will run till July 24.  According to officials, a meeting was held on Saturday with UVSP officials under the guidance of UVSP chairman Mahavir Singh Bisht. It was decided during the meeting that the improvement examination for high school and intermediate will start from July 8 for specific subjects. The officials also said that the process of accepting applications for the high school and intermediate result improvement examination for the year 2024 will commence on May 8.

In addition, for access to the improvement examination under UVSP, general category students have paid a fee of Rs 200 for high school and Rs 300 for intermediate exams during the registration process. However, candidates from scheduled castes and scheduled tribes have paid Rs 100, while those from the scheduled tribe have paid Rs 150 respectively.

Commenting about the eligibility for the improvement examination, the officials informed that candidates who have appeared and failed in all the subjects in the main examination of the respective year are eligible for the improvement examination. Additionally, candidates who have participated in the experimental/internal assessment/project part of the main examination of any subject but failed in the examination due to being unable to appear in the theory part because of medical reasons or any other contingency are also eligible for the examination.

It will be recalled that the results for UVSP class X and class XII were declared on April 30. In class X, 89.14 per cent of the students passed the exam, with a passing percentage of 85.59 per cent for boys and 92.54 per cent for girls. Similarly, in class XII, 82.63 per cent of the students passed the exam, with a passing percentage of 85.96 per cent for girls and 78.97 per cent for boys.
