Veteran writer Tika Prasad Gola no more

A noted litterateur and publisher Tika Prasad Gola passed away on Tuesday. He was 85. Notably, he was the father of a senior correspondent of The Pioneer, Chanchal Gola.

His family sources said that his health had suddenly deteriorated on Saturday evening.  He was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Kashipur where he died of a cardiac arrest during treatment.

Besides being a writer and poet, he had been continuously publishing “Gyan-Vigyan” for the past 28 years. Associated with Sahitya Akademi, he would play an active role in literary activities. This aside, he made significant contributions to social causes.  

He was survived by his wife Vimlesh Gola and three sons – Neeraj, Chanchal and Piyush.
Local public representatives, litterateurs and other dignitaries have condoled his death, saying that he had endeared himself to the people with his literary accomplishment and involvement in public service.
