Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand Technical University and Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the objective of promoting entrepreneurship, innovation and start-up culture in the hospitality, tourism and service sectors. In the presence of the vice chancellor, VMSBUTU, Tripta Thakur, the registrar, Rajesh Upadhyay signed the agreement, while THE Principal, IHM Dehradun, Shiv Mohan signed the MoU on behalf of the institute.
Under this collaboration, both institutions will jointly establish a Centre for Hospitality Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CHEI). The centre will work towards encouraging innovation, start-up development, skill enhancement and entrepreneurship among students, researchers and aspiring entrepreneurs.
Speaking on the occasion, Thakur emphasised the importance of integrating technical education with entrepreneurship and innovation.
