The Panchayati Raj minister, Satpal Maharaj has claimed that the Bharatiya Janata Party is all set to win the three-tier Panchayat elections. He said that rural voters across all 12 districts have overwhelmingly exercised their franchise in favour of the BJP.
Addressing the media in Dehradun, Maharaj said that both the State government and the State Election Commission have made full preparations for the counting process. “Despite heavy rains in the region, voter turnout remained exceptionally high, with 70 per cent voting recorded in the second and final phase and 68 per cent in the first phase.
This strong participation clearly signals a decisive victory for the BJP,” he said. Maharaj said that 1,426 departmental officers and employees across 12 districts have been trained to enhance planning and capacity building at the Panchayat level. Besides this, 2,399 Panchayat representatives and staff were sent on exposure visits to award-winning Panchayats within Uttarakhand and in other states like Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Kerala. “These efforts have earned the trust of rural voters and their confidence in BJP’s governance will reflect in the final results.
There is no doubt that BJP will hoist the flag of victory in these elections,” he added.
