Waqf board, ICICI Foundation to give training, jobs to youngsters

The Uttarakhand Waqf Board has tied up with the ICICI Foundation to provide vocational training to the youngsters. In the first phase 100 students of Dehradun will be provided a training of three months after which they will be given placements in banks and other companies. On Thursday the training of the first batch of the students started in the Dehradun branch of the ICICI Foundation.

Speaking on the occasion, the chairman of the Waqf board Shadab Shams said that as per the agreement the foundation will provide training of 72 days to the youngsters and 100 per cent placement guarantee will be given to the trainees. He said that the after the completion of training the CM Pushkar Singh Dhami will hand over the certificate of training and letter of appointment to the students. Shams said that after Dehradun similar training centres will be set up in Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar and Nainital. He said that the students have an opportunity to change their lives so they should grab the opportunity.
 The additional secretary and member of the Waqf board Kahkashan Naseem said that the women can be made self reliant only by empowering them.  

The branch manager of ICICI Foundation Amit Sinha said that employment opportunities will be provided to the students by training them. He claimed that the training will change the lives of trainees. He said that though the training is for a period of 72 days the jobs will be offered to the students after training of 50 days.
