Warning- heavy rain & thunderstorms likely in five districts

Dehradun and some other parts of the State received light rain on Sunday. The State meteorological centre has yet again issued a yellow warning (Watch) regarding the possibility of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/intense to very intense spells of rain likely to occur at isolated places in Dehradun, Pauri, Champawat, Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar districts on Monday. Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/intense spells of rain are likely to occur at isolated places in the remaining districts today. Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur at most places in Champawat and Nainital districts, at many places in Tehri, Pauri, Dehradun and Udham Singh Nagar districts and at a few places in the remaining districts.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a partly to generally cloudy sky. Few spells of light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur, of which one or two spells may be intense/heavy in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 35 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today. Meanwhile, there was 14.3 millimetres of rain in Dehradun and 5.5 millimetres in Thalisain on Sunday. The maximum and minimum temperatures were 35 degrees Celsius and 25.7 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 36.2 degrees Celsius and 28.2 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 25.5 degrees Celsius and 17.2 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 26.9 degrees Celsius and 19.1 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
