Watch out- heavy rain likely in 10 districts today

Even as some parts of Kumaon region witnessed heavy rain on Tuesday, the State Meteorological Centre has issued a yellow warning for heavy rain in 10 districts on Wednesday.

Heavy Rain is likely to occur at isolated places in Dehradun, Haridwar, Pauri, Udham Singh Nagar, Nainital, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Pithoragarh and Bageshwar districts today. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, intense to very intense spells of rain are likely to occur at isolated places in the mountainous districts while thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are likely to occur at isolated places in Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts. Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur at most places in the State today.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a partly cloudy sky. A few spells of light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur with one or two heavy spells probable in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 32 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.

Meanwhile, Pantnagar in Udham Singh Nagar and Chorgalia in Nainital witnessed heavy rain on Tuesday with 107 millimetres and 79.5 millimetres respectively. Light to moderate rain was reported in most parts of the State.
