The annual cultural and educational festival “Abhyudaya 2026” was organised in the auditorium of University of Patanjali in Haridwar on Saturday. This event emerged as a symbol of vibrant coordination of ancient Gurukul tradition and modern education, said senior Patanjali functionaries. This year the theme of Abhyudaya was “Yogadharma se Yugdharma”.

Addressing the students, Yoga Guru Swami Ramdev said that they were the flag bearers of the Rishi culture. Cautioning the students about ongoing propaganda to denigrate India, Ramdev said that misleading reels are being circulated now as part of that conspiracy. “However, India was, is and will always remain the world leader. With that strength and resolve, we will move forward and restore India’s lost glory,” he averred.

Presiding over the programme, the head of Parmarth Niketan, Rishikesh, Swami Chidanand said that the University of Patanjali is a unique place of spiritual practice. “Yoga is not just a subject of global popularity but the foundation of nation-building,” he said.  The spiritual guide from Rishikesh, Sadhvi Bhagwati and the university’s vice-chancellor, Acharya Balkrishna also addressed the students.

Addressing the programme, the VC of Central Sanskrit University, Srinivas Varkhedi appreciated the theatrical performance by the students of the university and lauded the role played by the Patanjali fraternity in upholding and reviving the values enshrined in the Sanatani culture.  The president of the Sangeet Natak Akademi, Sandhya Purecha and the professor of Banaras Hindu University, Brijbhushan Ojha addressed the students too and exhorted them to continue embodying the ideals they were being initiated in here under the guidance of Ramdev and Balkrishna.
