Weather warning issued for State after mostly clear Friday

Most parts of the State witnessed a break from rainfall on Friday though light to moderate rain was reported in some places. The State meteorological centre has issued a yellow warning (Watch) regarding the possibility of heavy rain accompanied with thunderstorms, lightning and intense spells of rain likely to occur at isolated places in Dehradun, Bageshwar and Nainital districts and thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and intense spells of rain likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Tehri, Pauri, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Almora, Champawat and Pithoragarh districts on Saturday. Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur at many places in Tehri, Dehradun, Pauri, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Almora, Nainital, Champawat and Udham Singh Nagar districts and at a few places in remaining districts of the State today.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a partly to generally cloudy sky. One or two spells of light to moderate rain/thundershowers are also likely to occur. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 34 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various places on Friday were 32.7 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 34 degrees Celsius and 24.1 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 25.5 degrees Celsius and 16.4 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 26 degrees Celsius and 19.2 degrees Celsius in New Tehri. Light rain was reported in some places in the State with five millimetres in Ukhimath, 3.5 millimetres in Agastyamuni and 3.2 millimetres in Nainital.
