SPIC MACAY to host online cultural fest Anubhav-3

The Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music And Culture Amongst Youth (SPIC MACAY) will be hosting the third edition of the online series of programmes- Anubhav-3. The online series of programmes is scheduled to be held from October 9 to 15 and will be streamed live on SPIC MACAY’s official YouTube channel.

Speaking about the festival, the media director of SPIC MACAY, Suman Doonga said, “During the pandemic, SPIC MACAY has been consistently organising programmes online, which has opened up the world for participation and expanded the scale at which one can work. It is an opportunity for youth from across the world to experience the cultural and traditional values that India has preserved in various forms for ages.”

Some of the renowned artists who will be a part of the online series include Sangita Kalanidhi, Umayalpuram K Sivaraman, TV Sankaranarayanan, Parween Sultana, L Subramaniam, Sudha Ragunathan, Ghanakanta Bora, Sheik Mahboob Subhani, Kaleeshabi Mahboob, Vidushi Malavika Sarukkai, Pundit Bhajan Sopori, Prahlad Singh Tipaniya, Suma Sudhindra, Ustad Bahauddin Dagar, Dadi Pudumjee, Ashwini Bhide Deshpande, Pundit Prabhakar Karekar and others.

Informing further about the online cultural festival, the chairperson of SPIC MACAY Uttarakhand, Vidya Vasan said, “The schedule of Anubhav-3 is such that during this one week, a student is kept away from the usual distractions of the world that is bombarded with too much knowledge and information. Participants are advised to go on a ‘social media & TV fast’ and slow down to savour, understand and introspect to derive their outlook of Indian heritage and its ethics.”

During the seven days of this festival there will be 150 workshops of Hindustani vocal, Carnatic vocal, eight classical dances, folk music and dance, and traditional painting styles. Nearly 15,000 students are expected to participate from all over the country, as well as from other countries such as Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, China, Korea, Singapore and Japan.
