The vice chairman of the Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) Banshidhar Tiwari directed officials to begin parking projects in Dehradun’s old Tehsil area and Rishikesh to ease traffic congestion in these regions.

Expressing dissatisfaction with the progress of the Indira Market redevelopment project, Tiwari also issued a final notice to the contractor and instructed officials to prepare a framework for the authority to take over the work.

These decisions were taken during a review meeting held at the authority’s hall on Friday. Tiwari also assessed the progress of the Adhat Bazaar project in the meeting. The officials informed him that the project is in its final phase. He directed them to hold a discussion with traders immediately after Holi to finalise the shop allocation process. While reviewing the City Park project, Tiwari ordered officials to complete it soon and stated that entry to the park will remain free for senior citizens and children.

He also directed that the canteen within the park should serve only vegetarian food. He also issued instructions regarding the preservation of trees planted at the site of the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign launched by the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami in Gangotri Vihar. He directed the officials to develop a well-planned park at the location.
