Woman accuses sister in-law for son’s drug addiction, SCPCR directs probe
The State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR) has received a complaint from a woman alleging that her sister in-law has made her minor son a drug addict. According to the complainant, the accused who is also the aunt of the alleged victim is a usurer and she has purportedly involved the 14 year old son of the complainant into this work which has severely affected the studies of the child. According to the complainant, the child is following the instructions of the accused and is not listening to his parents. Taking cognisance of the complaint, the chairperson of the commission Usha Negi has directed the deputy inspector general/senior superintendent of police (SSP) of Dehradun district to investigate the matter and submit the report within 15 days to the commission.
