A woman died while three men sustained injuries after a car they were travelling in fell into a gorge near Singhor- Bairathkhai road in the Kalsi block of Dehradun on Wednesday morning. Some villagers who were near the accident site immediately started the rescue operation after informing the police, as per the officials. The villagers recovered three injured men but the woman identified as Samo Devi was found dead. The injured were sent to a hospital in Vikasnagar for treatment while the body of the deceased was sent for post-mortem, said the officials. According to them, the driver had possibly lost control of the vehicle which led to the accident. The reason will be cleared after talking to the injured men who were under treatment till Wednesday evening, added officials.
In another accident in Tehri district, a 14-year-old girl Archana was swept away in the Bhagirathi river near Koteshwar Dam on Wednesday morning. After getting information, the police called a rescue team of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) who started the search operation at noon. However, the team could not find the girl till late evening, as per the officials.
