Won’t tolerate Spit Jihad in Uttarakhand: CM Dhami

 Chief Minister Pushkar Singh DHami has said that the incidents of spit Jihad in the State will not be tolerated and strict action will be taken against those involved in such heinous activities. He was addressing a public meeting in Pithoragarh in support of BJP’s Mayoral candidate Kalpana Devlal on Saturday. 

Referring to the incident that occurred in Uttarayani fair of Bageshwar in which two persons were allegedly spitting on the chapatis, the CM said that both the culprits have been arrested. He said that the State government is acting against those having an appalling mentality of spit jihad.

 The CM said that the Congress party had converted Uttarakhand as a fortress of Land Jihad and in order to please its vote bank it termed Lord Ram as a fictitious character. He said that in Pithoragarh the Congress party is split into two groups. The CM appealed to the people to vote for the BJP candidates for development of the area.

He said that the planned development of Pithoragarh city will be done after the victory of the BJP candidate in the Mayoral election. The CM said that Pithoragarh is on the path of becoming a clean and green city. 

The CM said that the State government is acting against those who have purchased land in the State in violation of the existing land laws. The CM informed that action in 70 such cases has so far been taken by the State government. 

 Dhami also addressed public meetings in support of the BJP candidates in Lohaghat, Almora, Champawat and Tanakpur on the day.   In Champawat, he accused the Congress party for engaging in politics of appeasement and said that the people should uproot the party which supports formation of Muslim personal law board in the State.

 The union minister of State and Lok Sabha MP Ajay Tamta and other senior leaders of BJP accompanied the CM in his visit.
