In a major political development Senior cabinet minister Yashpal Arya joined Congress party along with his MLA son Sanjeev Arya.
Arya joined Congress in a programme held in New Delhi in presence of central leaders and former Chief Minister Harish Rawat, PCC president Ganesh Godiyal and Leader of opposition in assembly Pritam Singh.
It is notable that Arya had left Congress and joined BJP before the assembly election of 2017.
Arya’s homecoming to Congress is being considered as a shot in arm for the party ahead of the crucial assembly election.
