GDMC & NCI ink MoU for research, education and nutritional awareness

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was inked between the Nutrition Council of India (NCI) and the Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) on the final day of the National Conclave on Nutrition and Public Health (NCICON-2026). Experts from different parts of the country took part in the conference, held at the GDMC campus.

According to officials, under this MoU, NCI and GDMC will collaborate on research, education and nutrition awareness programmes for the general public. This partnership aims to make significant contributions to the fields of nutrition and public health through various initiatives, including research projects, lecture series, training and seminars in the coming years.

GDMC Principal Dr Geeta Jain emphasised the importance of nutrition during pregnancy, stating that a healthy mother and child will ensure a brighter future for the country. GDMC students will also focus on nutrition alongside their studies to help prevent disease within the community.

The conference was attended by NCI leaders, expert researchers, clinicians and students, and featured comprehensive discussions on current challenges in nutrition and possible solutions.
