Yet another heavy rain warning issued for today

The State meteorological center has issued a warning regarding the possibility of heavy rainfall at isolated places in Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts on Friday. Apart from this, light to moderate rainfall/thunderstorms are likely to occur at most places in the mountains and at a few places in the plains of the State with intense showers at isolated places in the mountainous regions of the State today.

Dehradun is forecast to experience partly cloudy skies with light to moderate rainfall/thunderstorms likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 33 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.

It is pertinent to mention here that though the State meteorological centre had issued a warning regarding the possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall in various districts of the State on Wednesday and Thursday due to which schools in 10 districts of the State were closed on Wednesday, the rainfall recorded was not as heavy as forecast in most parts of the State.

Meanwhile, the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in different parts of the State on Thursday were 30.9 degrees Celsius and 23.5 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 31 degrees Celsius and 25.4 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 20.3 degrees Celsius and 14.8 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 22.8 degrees Celsius and 18.2 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
