Young men sustain serious injuries after vehicle falls into gorge

Four young men sustained serious injuries after the vehicle they were travelling in fell into a 100 metres deep gorge near Jawadi Bypass in Rudraprayag district in the wee hours of Friday. The officials said that the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) was alerted about the incident by Rudraprayag Kotwali in the wee hours to conduct a rescue operation. Under the leadership of chief constable Pradeep Rawat, an SDRF team from the Ratura post rushed to the site, equipped with essential rescue tools. The initial questioning revealed that the vehicle, carrying four people, lost control and plunged nearly 100 meters down into the gorge. The rescue team started the rescue operation and retrieved the injured from the wrecked car. The injured were identified as Mukesh Singh (25), Ayush (17), Ashish Panwar (26) and Mayank Singh. They were given initial medical aid at the scene and were then transported to the main road using stretchers. They were subsequently taken to the hospital for further treatment. The officials said that the doctors referred Mukesh and Mayank to Srinagar base hospital considering their extremely critical condition.
