Youth dies in crash with loaded tractor trolley

A 22-year-old man lost his life after his motorcycle crashed with a tractor trolley loaded with sugarcane on Sunday morning in the Patelnagar area of Dehradun. The station house officer (SHO) of Patelnagar, Ravindra Yadav told The Pioneer that the young man Anoop Pathak along with his sister Anu Pathak was on a bike on Sunday morning when it crashed with the loaded tractor trolley near the Parwal Bridge on Asan River at around 8 AM. He said that the siblings got severely injured and were immediately sent to the nearest hospital for medical help. The police also arrested the tractor driver Anand who belongs to Uttar Pradesh but is currently living in the Patelnagar area too. According to Yadav, the injured Anoop died while undergoing treatment in the morning and his sister is still in the hospital for treatment. On the question of the reason for the accident, the officer said that the police were informed that the crash occurred at a turn and the drivers of both vehicles could not see each other due to the fog. The police are investigating the matter, he added.
