Zero zone near Tapkeshwar temple today

Traffic on several routes will remain diverted today to ensure the smooth movement of devotees on the occasion of Mahashivratri. The area from Tapkeshwar temple junction to Tapkeshwar temple will be a zero zone from 12 AM on Saturday. The officials said that the police will start a one-way system from Kaulagarh Chowk to Garhi Cantt Chowk from 6 AM and no vehicles would be allowed to go to Garhi Cantt via Kaulagarh Chowk.

The officials informed that vehicles arriving from Premnagar and ISBT routes to Ballupur and Garhi Cantt will be diverted from Ballupur and Kaulagarh to Kishan Nagar, Bindal Chowki junction and Post Office junction to Garhi Cantt Chowk. They said that there will be one way from Garhi Cantt Chowk to the Post Office junction and no vehicle would be allowed to go towards the Post Office junction via Garhi Cantt. All vehicles from Garhi Cantt Chowk will be diverted towards Kaulagarh and Ballupur Chowk. Vehicles with essential services will be allowed to pass through these routes.

The officials said that the police have made special parking arrangements for Mahashivratri to minimise traffic issues on Saturday. Devotees going to Tapkeshwar temple will park their four-wheeler vehicles on Dakra Ground and IHM while two-wheelers will be parked at the ground opposite Garhi Cantt police station and near Nimbuwala road. The police appealed to the citizens to park their vehicles at the designated parking spaces only as strict action will be taken against those who fail to comply with the rules. The police would tow such vehicles by crane and would take action per the rules.
