PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun

The Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL) has claimed that its 1,908 electric feeders have been successfully connected to the National Feeder Monitoring System (NFMS) portal of the government of India.

The UPCL managing director AK Yadav informed that NFMS is a digital platform developed by the Ministry of Power, by which real time monitoring of the 11 KV feeders of the entire country is done. The objective of the UPCL to get connected with the NFMS is to increase the quality of power supply and improve the monitoring and power system reforms.

He said that real time monitoring of feeder performance, tripping and voltage profile will be done by the NFMS. The portal will also help in fast solution of the complaints of the consumers such as load tripping and low voltage.

The MD added that due to the integrated dashboard, similar data is now available from the officers of State administration to the officers deployed in the field and this has made the decision making transparent.

He added that smart meters are being installed at 2,602 feeders and soon remaining feeders will be connected with NFMS portal
