The Congress has said that the demand for an Interpol investigation made by BJP’s Lok Sabha MPs in the Loni Urban multistate Credit and thrift Cooperative (LUCC) society scam has exposed the power struggle within the ruling party in the State.
Four Lok Sabha MPs of Uttarakhand, Trivendra Singh Rawat, Anil Baluni, Mala Rajya Laxmi Shah and Ajay Bhatt met Union Home minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Thursday and demanded stern action on the promoters of the LUCC.
Interacting with the media at Rajiv Bhawan here on Thursday, the Pradesh Congress Committee vice president Suryakant Dhasmana said that the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has ordered a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe in the LUCC scam. He claimed that influential people associated with the BJP are involved in the LUCC scam due to which the BJP leaders are engaging in dual talk on the issue.
Dhasmana said that it is clear that there is no coordination between the State BJP government and the party MPs. He said that it is surprising that the MPs met the Union Home minister only a day after the CM’s announcement of CBI inquiry in the scam.
He said that it is unfortunate that the hard earned money of people of Uttarakhand was looted and the Cooperative department of the State and government exhibited no seriousness on the scam due to which the scamsters were able to flee from the country.
