Four Himachal Pradesh residents die in car accident in Vikasnagar

Victims died on spot after car fell 300 metres down the road into Tons river
Four people belonging to Himachal Pradesh died on Sunday after the car they were travelling in fell into the Tons river in the Vikasnagar area of Dehradun. The officials said that all four deceased were on their way to Himachal Pradesh from Vikasnagar on Sunday morning. The officials informed that the driver of the car reportedly lost control of the vehicle which crashed into the Tons river 300 metres below the main road near Minak in Chakrata.
The police called the rescue team of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) to recover the injured people but they all died on the spot, as per the officials. They said that the rescue team under the supervision of SDRF additional sub-inspector Yogendra Bhandari accessed the vehicle by descending into the gorge with the help of ropes and retrieved the bodies with the help of the local people. The SDRF reached the main road carrying the bodies through the alternative route and handed them over to the police.
The deceased have been identified as Amarjit Thakur (35), Sandeep Age (32), Praveen (30), and Mohit (28). The police said that though it is being said that the driver lost control of the car, they are yet to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
