MDDA board meeting approves several proposals
Eco resorts to come up in remote villages

During the 107th board meeting of the Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA), a slew of proposals was approved. It is learnt that discussion was held on as many as 64 proposals and several of them were approved. This aside, about 50 maps were approved in course of the board meeting. Proposals for establishing several eco resorts in the villages received approval while the long-awaited façade policy was approved with some conditions attached. The meeting was presided over by secretary MDDA Mohan Singh Barnia.
Sharing details, a senior MDDA officer said that clearance was given for establishing eco resorts on the agricultural lands in the remote villages. The mobile tower policy was brought under the ambit of government order with a single window system being introduced. As far as the façade policy is concerned, the Indian Institute of Architects submitted its presentation and it was approved with the stipulation that the façade-related works would be undertaken only on the main roads. It was also decided at the meeting that MDDA would continue to run and maintain ISBT. This responsibility earlier rested with a private company.
