In latest news from Dehradun, the dates of the closure of the portals of two revered shrines Yamunotri and Badrinath have been announced in tune with the long-running traditions on the day of Vijaya Dashami. While the portals of Yamounotri shrine will be closed for the six-month winter break on November 15 the same of Badrinath shrine will be shut on November 18. Notably, the date and time of the closure of the Gangotri shrine were announced on the first day of Navaratri on November 14. Besides, the gates of Kedarnath shrine will be shut for the six-month winter break on the day of Bhai Dooj that falls on November 15. It is learnt from the State tourism sources that about 50 lakh have visited the Char Dham so far and the figure is set to rise further till the gates of the four shrines are shut for the winter break.
