In latest news from Doon, in another largesse for the statehood activists, the State government announced that as per the new order issued, they would travel free of cost in the Volvo and air-conditioned buses operating under the Uttarakhand Transport Corporation (UTC). Earlier, they were entitled to free travel only in the general UTC buses. The order further stated that they would enjoy these facilities only within the territory of the State. Besides, if the buses travel territory of Uttar Pradesh midway between the departure place and the destination they would be entitled to the same.
Informing this, a UTC officer said that those who would defy this order would face stringent action.
