In latest news from Uttarakhand, father-son duo drowned in Ganga near Gular Shivpuri in Tehri district. A SDRF team rushed to the spot upon receiving information from Lachmanjhula police station and launched search operation.
SDRF said that the incident occurred when Asish Thapa (23) was bathing in the river. As he got trapped in eddies and was being swept away, his father Sanjay Thapa (52) who is a retired army officer jumped into the river to rescue his drowning son while his wife and another son were standing on the riverside. The duo remained untraced though the SDRF divers were trying all means to rescue them.
